How to Get an Islip Marriage License
Visit the Islip Town Clerk's Office at Main Street, Islip, NY 11751. Marriage license applications are processed Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Both partners must show up in person together. Bring a certified birth certificate with a raised seal and a valid photo ID. If you were married before, bring your certified divorce decree or death certificate for a prior spouse. No blood test is needed.
The fee is $40. Pay by cash, check, or money order made payable to Linda D. Vavricka, Town Clerk. Once the clerk issues your marriage license, a 24-hour waiting period begins per DRL Section 13-b. Islip Marriage License Ceremony Details
Town Clerk Linda Vavricka is a designated marriage officer and can perform civil ceremonies. Under Section 11 of the Domestic Relations Law, judges, mayors, ordained clergy, and appointed marriage officers are all authorized to officiate weddings in New York. After the ceremony, the officiant signs the license with both spouses and at least one witness. The officiant returns the signed license to the clerk who issued it within five days.
Per DRL Section 14, the clerk fills out the license form and gives it to the couple, who then hand it to their officiant for the wedding day. Once the signed license comes back, the clerk files it with the state. You get a Certificate of Marriage Registration in the mail within a few weeks.

Getting Copies of Islip Marriage Records
